May 2017
May’s meeting proved to be much fun as we had our inaugural “Your Trash is my Treasure” swap.
There were fabric packs, yardage, quilt patterns & kits, books, cross-stitch kits & patterns, wool skeins, and even a light box brought in to be swapped. Several people commenting that they had more kits and yardage that they will bring in next time.
Thank you to everyone who participated in this fun swap.
Showcase a member
We then showcased a member – the lovely Margaret. There is certainly a reason why she is called the hexagon queen.
Margaret shared some beautiful quilts that she has made over the years, all lovingly hand quilted. It is no wonder she has been honoured with the Marjorie Horwood award twice!
Bronwyn then got up and showed the album she is compiling for the club which records the events of the past 35 years. She has also compiled an album of Marjorie Horwood Awardees and their award winning quilts.
