November 2024
Tonight’s demonstration/ workshop was done by Annie. Thank you so much Annie for being so patient as we hand sewed our Christmas Trees learning foundation piecing. We appreciate all the effort you put into the kit and especially drawing individually all the guidelines for us to follow.
The Show and Tell was outstanding! Lots of Christmas trees-all different colours and styles.
Many ladies had finished their Christmas Tree creations from last month. With great thanks to Lynne, Ros, Julie-Ann and Christine for putting those kits together. These belong to Julie-Ann, Carmel, Dawn, Judith, Jill, Fiona and Christine.
Julie-Ann deserves a quadruple star for completing a Christmas tree, stocking, a quilt and a top to her sewing Bag! Both completed with beautiful felt embroidery.
Kim, also prolific this month, had a couple of quilts she whipped up! Both lovely!
Viive had been to Uzbekistan and Turkmenistan and brought a few of the gorgeous purchases to show us.
Annie: showed her “heat bag repair to a cute little teddy that was a little worse for wear! “Thread Bear”.
Dawn showed her Christmas tree that is white to match her Christmas village and made from the lace of a collar from her Grandma (See group photo). She also showed a Christmas Tree, a gift from Janice, made by her sister Margaret Goldman.
Judith had won “Best of Show” with some foundation piecing she had done with Anne Summerland. Subsequently she had it framed and brought it along to show us this very intricately pieced work.
