September 2023
Thank you to Jill and Kim for volunteering to talk to the group. We really appreciate the work involved in preparing your presentation.
Jill spoke on felting with alpaca wool. We really enjoyed the alpaca journey and the funny light-hearted anecdotes, at some stages she had us all in stitches!
Kim spoke about all the different batting available for quilts. Very informative with samples to feel the differences.
Show and Tell:
Janice showed us photos of her very cute great grandsons.
Sue showed one of the 5 completed t-shirt memorial quilts put together at the retreat and the completed cute baby quilt also put together at the retreat.
Jill then gave us a complete run down on her “Heaven and Hell” week! A lovely weekend retreat in a nunnery followed by a hellish journey underground in a coal mine.
Ros had the “big” news of her redundancy from SSS and is looking forward to the next chapter. Good luck!
Rosemary had some exciting news about her upcoming holiday with beloved family members and a trip down memory lane to visit Tooleybuc, a Southwestern NSW town on the Murray River. It is nearly 1000km from Sydney and was her first teaching post straight out of teachers College near 50 years ago! She gave us a taste of challenges she faced leaving home and starting her career in such a different environment (stories of snakes and guns, her wardrobe and her new family kept us all amused). She flourished!
